If you are interested and wish to be considered for a police officer position with the Pittsfield Township Police Department, you must apply online. The Recruit must successfully complete the Pittsfield Police Department's Field Training Officer program that includes a minimum one-year period of probation to remain a licensed police officer with Pittsfield Charter Township. Upon successful completion of the academy, the Recruit will be hired into a full-time, entry-level police officer position. In addition, the Township will provide an hourly wage, with payment of overtime hours in excess of forty hours per week, to be paid out on a bi-weekly basis while attending the academy. If you are selected to be sponsored by the Township, the Township will cover the cost of the academy tuition and associated academy-related costs, excluding room/board and food.
The candidate(s) selected for this position will participate in an MCOLES regional Police Academy scheduled for 2024.
